Howard St residential rezoning proposal

Hastings District Council has prepared a variation to the Proposed Hastings District Plan which seeks to rezone some 21.2 hectares of land from Plains Production Zone to a General Residential Zone.

This land is located between Howard Street and Havelock Road, and the Awahou Drain on the southern edge of Hastings city (next to Parkvale School).

The variation is currently in the appeal phase, which is managed by the Environment Court of New Zealand.
