Greenfields capacity

Hastings District Council considers that meeting the community's housing needs is a priority.  A key aspect of Council’s strategy is a residential development programme that provides certainty for developers and choice in the housing market, while also staged at a rate that balances the cost to Council of installing the required infrastructure against market demand.

Council has developed an interactive mapping platform which provides information relating to the current provision of greenfield land for development in the short to medium-term. Users can navigate the district to view information on greenfield development sites, including:

  • Building Consents granted in last quarter
  • Building Consents pending
  • Vacant residential land remaining
  • Vacant residential lots remaining
  • Vacant unit titles remaining
  • Residential consented lots pending
  • Undeveloped land (potential lots)
  • Current greenfield areas
  • Future greenfield areas
