The Rates Rebate Scheme was established in 1973 by the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) to provide a discount on rates to low-income homeowners. The scheme means you may be eligible for a rebate, depending on your circumstances.
Although a ratepayer’s income might exceed the income threshold, a rates rebate could still be available depending on the rates amount and number of dependants. To find out if you are eligible see the electronic calculator:
