Hastings District Council is supporting local drought-impacted farmers by making liners available to recycle bale wraps through the Plasback recycling scheme.
Council will purchase packs of three liners for wrap collection which will be gifted to the first 100 farmers who register online. Each liner can hold about 60 bale wraps, allowing registered farmers to recycle up to 180 wraps.
Registrations have now closed. An email with details will be sent to those people who registered before the closing date.
Farmers must organise collection of their bale wraps with Plasback before the end of September 2020. The collection fee of $40 per filled liner is the responsibility of the farmer. As a one-off drought initiative Plasback will discount the collection fee for the first 100 registered farmers if combined collection venues are arranged.

Please note that liners can only be used for clean bale wraps, no netting.
