Chlorine-removed water is available from public taps at five locations: in Civic Square in front of the Hastings Library, in Romanes Park off Romanes Dr in Havelock North, in the Flaxmere Library car park, at 21 Ngaruroro Ave in Whakatu, and at the reserve alongside 2 Shrimpton Rd in Haumoana.
Council is aware that some residents prefer to drink unchlorinated water. While Council cannot provide unchlorinated water, it can supply water that has been chlorinated and then re-filtered at the tap to remove the chlorine.
For those residents, Council has installed public chlorine-removed water stations at a number of sites across the district, as shown on this map:
