Flaxmere Land Development
We’ve made more land available in Flaxmere for the development of much-needed housing.
Facing a critical housing shortage, Council approached the government in 2020 seeking Crown Infrastructure Partners funding to develop three areas of council-owned residential land in Flaxmere.
Council received $11.5m to go towards building the water and roading infrastructure to support affordable, quality housing.
The three areas are at 244 Flaxmere Ave, 72 Caernarvon Drive and an area west of the Flaxmere Town Centre, and it’s anticipated there will be about 150 homes built.
Designed to stand the test of time
The houses will be a mix of one, two, three and four bedroom homes that follow best practice design principles, are sustainable, have private outdoor living spaces, appropriate garaging and are energy efficient.
First-home buyers are a priority and arrangements such as progressive home ownership schemes will be available.
There will be a requirement that the properties are owned and occupied by the new owners for no less than five years.
