A vacant section of unused Hastings District Council land that has been sitting idle in Flaxmere has become the site for a development comprising 17 houses.
Two lots have been put aside for 18 social/transitional houses.
The land sits between Flaxmere Ave, Kirkwood Rd and Tarbet St, and this council project is the first of a number of housing initiatives to get underway across the district to address the housing needs of the community.

Over the past year Hastings District Council has been undertaking infrastructure works on a vacant plot of land on Tarbet St, Flaxmere, to create 17 residential housing lots.
These works are now complete and the lots are on the market – available to first-home buyers seeking affordable and quality living in the heart of Hawke’s Bay.
