There are mobility parking spaces available for people with disabilities throughout the Hastings and Havelock North central business areas. These spaces are provided for people with Mobility Parking Permits only. The spaces are clearly marked in blue with a white symbol on the road, and a sign on a pole.
All permit card holders must display their Mobility Parking Permit in a way that can easily be seen from outside the vehicle.
Mobility Parking Permit card holders who find that designated mobility parking spaces are full can use regular parking spaces for twice the advertised time limit. Parking payment is required.
Mobility Parking Permits can be obtained from the CCS Disability Action website, or contact the Hawke's Bay branch; phone 834 0499.CCS has all the details about who can obtain a permit, how to apply for one, costs and the rules for use.
The fine for illegally parking in a mobility parking space without a permit can be found on Council's Fees and charges page.
