Waimārama Beach is a popular summer destination for locals and visitors to Hawke’s Bay.
The domain has public toilets, picnic tables, a free-to-use barbecue and a playground. Play equipment includes a flying fox, seesaw, slides, monkey bars, standing spinners, skateboard teeter, climbing frame, merry-go-round and swings.
The adjoining beach, with its attractive golden sand, is suitable for swimming. On a good day, take the boat out on a trip to Bare Island and its offshore reefs where there is an abundance of fish and other sea life.
Home to the Waimārama Surf Life Saving Club, the beach is patrolled during the summer months, from November through to March.
