Thirteen of Hastings' parks and reserves have areas dedicated to playing sport. A wide range of codes are catered for, from the traditional: football, rugby, cricket, rugby league, touch rugby and softball, to the specialised: ki-o-rahi, disc golf, skating, marching and BMX.

Seasonal sportsgrounds that require marking are painted at the beginning of each playing season. To see the field layouts for particular parks (and more information on the parks they are in) click on the links below.

Sportsground closures

If grassed grounds need to be closed (usually weather-related) the appropriate codes are notified. To check if the ground you are scheduled to play at is affected please see the appropriate code’s website: Hawke's Bay Rugby Union;  Central Football - Hawke's Bay; Hawke's Bay Cricket, Softball Hawke's Bay.
