We’ve been working with the local community on the drinking water upgrade project for Whakatū which will see the construction of a water reservoir and treatment facility on Ngaruroro Avenue Reserve.
We’ve held a number of hui at the local community hall over the past six months to discuss the water infrastructure and how we can enhance the remaining reserve area in Ngaruroro Avenue Reserve for the benefit of the whole community.
Council has designed the reserve improvement plan based on feedback from the community, and to fit within the available budget.
The improvement plan was presented at a hui in September 2021, and in February 2022, distributed to local residents via a letterbox flyer and a sign in the park.
The works will include:
The timing of these works is aligned with the construction of the water treatment plant and reservoir on the reserve, which we aim to complete by late 2022.
Below is the improvement plan that was presented at the last community hui held in September 2021.
