Work on the St Aubyn St Reserve playground was completed in March 2022.
The playground features a range of play equipment that kids can climb, swing, slide and spin on, or ride their bike or scooter around the perimeter of the playground. We’ve also added seating, shade sails, landscaping and a drinking fountain for park users.
The playground has been built within the broad ‘leg’ of the park, which links Hinau St to the main grassed area of the park.
The reason for this location is so the playground does not impact on the main park, which is occasionally used for winter sports, and is also ideal for informal play such as kite flying and kicking a ball around.
It also means the playground can be seen from the street and is overlooked by park neighbours, which enables passive surveillance.
