We’re making some improvements to the drinking water network along Willowpark Road North.
The work is happening on Willowpark North Road. We’ve highlighted the area on the map.
The team is planning to start work on Monday 15 August and is anticipated that it will be completed by late November (weather and ground conditions-dependent).
To upgrade the drinking water main our contractor (Drainways) need to replace the existing pipe.
At times one side of the footpath will be closed and parking will be limited. As required, there will be speed reductions and alternative walking paths put in in place to keep everyone safe.
There will be short periods of time when residents won’t have water. The contractor will be in touch directly with affected residents in advance to provide details on what will be happening and when.
Residents can expect to see workers on site from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and will hear some noise.
Council has contracted Drainways to carry out this project. For information on the site works, in the first instance contact the Drainways project manager: John Pal on 027 874 4513 or john@drainways.co.nz
The team hope to have the Willowpark Road North work finished by late November.
Yes, if there are short periods of time when residents may not be able to access their drive-way the contractors will notify you directly.
Some residents will have their water turned off for short periods of time. Contractors will notify impacted residents in advance.
No, the road will remain open with limited access.
There won’t be a detour. At times, Willowpark Road North will be reduced to one lane between Victoria Street and Grove Road. This will cause some delays. Residents are advised to consider alternative routes.
Delays will continue throughout the project and everything should be back to normal late November.
