This interactive map provides information on bridges on the Hastings District Council network, including those with posted weight and speed restrictions.

The red dots indicate bridges that are subject to restrictions. Use the map to search for bridges by name or by road.

You can view the legend on the top right hand of the map and use your mouse to zoom in/out, pan and scroll.

Many bridges across the district were damaged during Cyclone Gabrielle, and numerous roads impacted with flooding and slips, particularly in rural areas. Information on bridge and road closures can be found on our Road Works page

Below is a breakdown of short term solutions currently in place for those bridges lost during Cyclone Gabrielle.

Load restriction: Vehicles up to 30T max with 5.5 max axle loading at 10km/hr by permit only.

Note: There are currently no crossings in place for Puketapu, Brookfields, Darkeys Spur No.1 and Kererū Gorge. At Aropaoanui, the existing Arapawanui bridge is still in place but the approach has only been temporarily reinstated while we look for a permanent solution. At Crownthorpe, repairs to the approach are underway.
