Leased ParkingNgā tūnga waka rīhi

If you are working in the Hastings or Havelock North city centres and need a park for your car every day, then it may be worth considering a leased car park. Council provides leased car parking in seven areas in Hastings and three in Havelock North.

Leasing a carpark is the easy way to ensure you have a reserved parking space in the Hastings and Havelock North central business areas. When you lease a parking space you have exclusive use of the space during certain hours. View the interactive map below.

  • Market Street South
  • Railway Rd/Queen Street  (Northern Carpark)
  • Opera House Carpark
  • Warren Street South
  • Russell Street South
  • Donnelly Street
  • Havelock Road
  • Joll Road

Parking costs

Parking Fees and Charges approved for 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.

All fees and charges are inclusive of GST (except as noted *).

Apply for a carpark

To apply for a carpark complete the online form below.

If no spaces are available you will be added to the wait list.

Follow this link if the form fails to load. online form.

Once you have been assigned a carpark, you will be issues a monthly invoice. You can pay your invoice via credit card, direct credit, automatic payment, direct debit or over the counter at the Customer Service Centre.

Cancelling your lease agreement

The lease agreement may be terminated by either the lessee or Hastings District Council by giving one months notice. To cancel your lease complete the Cancel a Leased Carpark form.

Someone parked in your space?

First contact Council and advise your contact phone number, your car and park details, and the details of the offending vehicle. You are then allowed to park your car at the nearest available space. You should display the reverse side of your vehicle's Lease Dash card on your dashboard while your car is in a different carpark. Do not park in another leased carpark.
