This large, grassed reserve in Hastings is primarily a sports ground. Home to the Western Rangers Football Club, it is a popular football venue in winter, while in summer fields are marked for touch rugby (see field maps below).
On the Southampton Street side, the park now features a dual toilet, off-street carparking and an upgraded playground, which has been designed to complement the playcentre’s new facility that will be built here. The playground reflects our district’s agriculture sector with its custom stock truck, the farm scene and cow rocker. It also recognises the Stortford Lodge saleyards which have been in operation for 120 years. For more information, please visit the St Leonards Park playground project page.
Public toilets: Yes; on both the Francis Hicks Ave (open during organised sporting events only) and Southampton Street sides of the park.
The entrances to the park are off Francis Hicks Ave, Townshend St and Southampton St.
Maintenance and development programmes for this park are governed by the Raureka Parks Reserve Management Plan.
