Camberley Community CentreTe whare hapori o Camberley

The Camberley Community Centre in Kiwi St, Camberley, is a perfect place for local residents to catch up with each other and learn new things. The on-site team is here to support, mentor, facilitate and assist the people of Camberley.

The range of events and classes held at the Camberley Community Centre over the year is huge, from line dancing, sport hawkes bay fitness classes, free sewing classes and an employment hub to after school youth activities. We aim to cater for everyone, from the very young to our most senior residents. Some activities are organised by our centre team while others are put on by community group

For youth

On school days during the term, a breakfast club for students runs from 8am to 8.45am. A wholesome breakfast is supplied to youngsters to get them off to school ready to learn. On Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, from 3pm to 4.30pm, our centre becomes ‘Whare Aroha’  a drop in space for tamariki/ rangatahi. It’s a great place to meet friends, play games and have fun. During the school holidays the centre runs youth activities for a few hours to entertain the kids.

For adults

Nearly every day during school terms we provide classes and events designed to bring the community together, from young mums and dads to our kuia and koro. Many of the activities run throughout the year while others are available for more limited periods, depending on the availability of those running them. If you have an idea for an activity let us know so we can see if it can be arranged.

Nourished for Nil

Food rescue, runs every Monday from 3-4pm. This is run by the centre staff and a dedicated group of volunteers. Kai is prepacked for anyone in the Hawkes Bay community to access with no criteria. We are always in need a good reusable shopping bags so please bring some along and we will swap your empty one for a full one.
