Wastewater Pipeline Relining

As part of Hastings District Council’s ongoing commitment to water, work is about to start on upgrades to the wastewater system in nine streets across the Hastings district. Work will include the renewal of pipelines to ensure the continued resilience of the wastewater network.  

Interflow NZ Ltd will be delivering these services on Hastings District Council’s behalf.

When

Commencing mid-September and complete by November 2021. Work will only be undertaken between the hours of 7.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Saturday.

Where

The map indicates where the pipelines will be renewed.

• Dalcross Street
• Collinge Place
• Beresford Street (section between Southhampton and Rodney Streets)
• Ellis Street
• St Aubyn Street East
• Simla Ave
• Awarua Crescent
• Busby Hill
• Tainui Drive (section as indicated on map below)

• St Aubyn Street West (section as indicated on the map below)

What to expect

• There will be no loss of wastewater services for local residents. Trenchless technology will be used which only requires access to existing manholes to install the liner.
• There may disruption to driveway access around access chambers however any disruption will be notified to directly affected parties ahead of the works commencing and traffic management will be in place to assist.
• The work will be completed in three stages: cleaning and preparation, renewal of the pipelines and finishing works.
• Trucks and specialised equipment used for the pipeline renewal will only be on site for the duration of the works each day – no equipment will be left on site.
• At times, the footpath on one side of the road will be closed and parking on the shoulder will be limited.
