There are 16 mobility parking spaces available for people with disabilities throughout the central business districts of Hastings and Havelock North. These spaces are provided for people with Mobility Parking Permits (CCS cards) only.
The spaces are clearly marked in blue on the road with a white symbol, as well as a sign on a pole.
CCS card holders who find their parking spaces full can use the normal parking spaces - Parking Officers will extend the length of your permitted stay from one hour to two hours.
All CSS card holders must display a Mobility Parking Permit in their vehicle, which can be obtained from New Zealand CCS Tairawhiti Hawke's Bay Incorporated, in Napier on phone 06 834 0499, having first contacted your doctor.
They have all the details about where you can park, costs, and how long you are able to park in any one space.
The fine for illegally parking in a mobility parking space is $150.
