Family fun at HOY

The Land Rover Horse of the Year is back from March 5 to 10, 2024, and organisers are keen to get the local community involved.

The show is much more than a horse show, there’s something for everyone, the perfect opportunity to check it out being the ‘Free for all Friday’ on Friday March 8 – gates open from 2pm. This is a chance to come and enjoy this iconic event and see first-hand what draws spectators and competitors for across Australasia to the Bay.

Don’t worry about packing snacks or lunch. The Grub Hub has a great selection of goodies to eat and drink, along with free face-painting for the kids. Pop into the Hastings isite before the event to collect the colouring competition picture and bring it along to be in the draw to win a Resene prize pack.

The Land Rover Horse of the Year Show is a six-day extravaganza where spectators can soak in an atmosphere like no other. It’s where they can be entranced by the beauty of dressage, feel the thrill of the cross country on Saturday, enjoy the excitement of showjumping and the speed of mounted games and more.

The jewel in the crown is the Olympic Cup where our nation’s best will compete on Sunday afternoon to win the New Zealand Showjumper of the Year crown. Each discipline has its top titles on the line, so take time to wander around the Tōmoana Showgrounds and be part of this historic show.
