Pay by Plate is here! New ticketless Pay by Plate machines are live in the Hastings City Centre.
Pay by Plate machines have replaced the old lollipop meters. The machines use your vehicle licence plate number to record your parking time and payment.

When you complete your parking transaction at a meter you will be asked if you want an eReceipt. If you select ‘YES’ a code will be displayed on screen. To get a copy of the eReceipt:

Yes, provided you don’t exceed the time limit, you can top up at any terminal.

You can, however not between on-street parking and off-street carparks.
Yes you can go to any machine in the same zone/time restriction and key in your plate number to find out how much time you have left. You can top-up as long as you have not exceeded the time limit. If you have parked in a carpark, you can only check in other carparks for your remaining time.
The fee is displayed on the parking machine screen.
On-Street Parking: $1.00 per hour
Off-Street Carparks: $0.50c per hour
Please note: There is an additional $0.30cent fee for Paywave transactions
Merchant fees are charged by banks for processing credit card transactions which means Council (or any retailer offering Paywave) must pay a percentage of the total fee. Council decided to set at $0.30c per transactions to be consistent and keep it in line with the Parkmate fee.
No, parking in Havelock North remains the same.
