Christmas Cheer Appeal 2022 news

Council is proudly supporting the Hastings Christmas Cheer Appeal this year. We want all of our Hastings whānau to have a special Christmas, so we are asking for your help to make this happen.

The Hastings Christmas Cheer Appeal is coordinated by the Flaxmere Baptist Church Community Trust which works with a wide range of charitable organisations and agencies. These agencies nominate families they have been working with during the year and donations are distributed to those whānau with identified needs.

The types of gifts we are needing are:

  • Gifts for adults in the family e.g. Mums, Dads and Grandparents
  • Gifts for those living in emergency housing
  • Gifts for people experiencing homelessness
  • Gifts suitable for members of large families
  • Gifts for families living with and managing serious health issues
  • Gifts for first time mums
  • Gifts for single parent families
  • Non-perishable food items are also welcome

If you are keen to donate a gift or food items for the Christmas Cheer Appeal please drop these off to collection points at:

  • Customer Services, ground floor of the Civic Administration building or
  • Any of the Hastings District Libraries

Your kind donations will be most appreciated.
