Hastings Blossom Parade announcement

Best bubble shot

Due to the impact of the ongoing Covid alert level restrictions Arts Inc Heretaunga, the organisers of the Hastings Blossom Parade are saddened to announce that this year’s Blossom Parade scheduled for the 6 November, will no longer go ahead. The event usually attracts around 15,000 to 20,000 people which, can only proceed if Hawke’s Bay will be in a Level 1 setting.

“Having postponed the parade twice already, we were really hopeful that we would be able to proceed with it early November”  says Lyn Mackie,  the Parade Director of Arts Inc Heretaunga.

“Rather than keep the parade participants on hold any longer, many of  whom have started to work on their entries,  we have made the decision to cancel the parade for this year”.

It is only the second time in the long history of the Hastings Blossom parade that the event had to be cancelled.

Lyn Mackie said: “We know many of you will be disappointed. We really do appreciate all the participants efforts and want to thank all of them for their patience and support.”

We look forward to presenting the next Blossom Parade in September 2022 when we feel confident that the community can come back in vast numbers to celebrate this unique event.
